| Objective: To investigate ghe effect and partly mechanisms of Yizhitongmai granule in treating vascular dementia by clinical and experimental study. It can provide the scientific therapy and practice proof. In addition, this decoction can embody the effect of Yiqihuoxue Kaiqianxiezhuo therapeutics for vascular dementia.Methods: (一) clinical study: 64 cases of VD were randomly divided into therapy group ( treated with Yizhitongmai granule and general western medicine ) and controlled group ( only using general western medicine ). Each treatment period was 4 weeks and there were three periods. The scorings of MMSE and ADL, clinical effect, regulating abnormal blood-lipid were observed before and after treatment as well as the security of Yizhitongmai granule. (二) animal experimental study: 50 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: the normal group ( pseudo operated), the model group ( operated without medicine ), high dose group (treated with high dose Yizhitongmai granule ), low dose group and Nimodipine group (treated with Nimodipine ). Cerebral ischemia model of rats were made by the method of both of vessel-blocked. The behavior of rats were observed and taken behavior's test. In addition, the results of pathology , VEGF and NOS of cerebral tissue were studied.
