Objective To investigate the adult measles outbreak in a textile factory in Zouping county of Shandong in 2005 from the angle of field epidemiology. To describe the distribution of the outbreak in order to study the epidemical risk factors. Using the serum epidemiology, virology and molecular biology technology to make clear what the pathogen is by detecting IgM antibody by ELISA, measles virus isolation and identification. To identify the gene type and variation by isolated virus gene sequencing and analysis. To know the immune level of newly enrolled workers by testing their serum measles antibody level. To value the effect of the emergency immune by study the emergency inoculation rate of measles vaccine and their antibody level, combined with the epidemiology documents.Material and Methods All information came from the investigation of the adult measles outbreak in Zouping county, Binzhou of shandong in 2005, including the outbreak and individual survey. 6 pharygeal swab specimens within 2 days rash appearence and 95 acute-phase sera were collected respectively. The method of ELISA IgM antibody capture was used for early stage diagnosis of serum. The measles gene type of this outbreak was defined by virus isolation and identification of pharyngeal swab specimens. And in the meantime molecular level variation were analysed by gene homogenous analysis. Serum epidemiology survey include two groups: 100 new enrolled workers (control group) and 100 emergency immune workers. Everyone was drawn 3 ml venous blood specimen. IgG antibody titers...
