Study On Influential Factors Of Five Entities Cost Of Hospitalization In A Military Hospital

Objectives: Five common ailments were chosen to analyses the actual cost of inpatients and the intensity of proportion on the hospitalization costs and function of influential factors in a military hospitals were anatomized, the efficient measures and suggestions will be taken to control the military hospitalization expenses.Methods: Coronary Heart disease, pneumonia, acute appendicitis, protrusion of the intervertebral disc and the chronic hepatitis of type B were selected .We took 869 records of inpatients with five diseases from 2002 to 2004 and established the data base by software SPSS, and took statistical analysis such as descriptive analysis and multi-factors analysis.Results: (1) The proportion of the cost from drugs is the most one, and the proportion of the physician entities's cost from drugs are more than 50%;(2)With multi-factors analysis, we described the affective factors of the five ailments and theirs action strengths, the results show the days stayed in the hospital and the kind of payments are common affective factors in the five ailments, and the factor affected more apparently is the former;(3) The average hospitalizing expenses per person appeared the rising trend as the average days in hospital prolongs, while the average expense per day declined as the days in the hospital does;(4) The expenses of the patients with medical insurances and army exemptions arc significantly higher than that of the patients who paid by themselves.Suggestions: Shorten the average days in the hospital and cut down average expense per day in the hospital; Make the compensation system of medical treatment services clearly, control the expense expenditures of the medicines; Draw up the routine standards of all kinds of the diagnose and treatments, and grasp strictly of the indications of all the kinds of examination items.
