BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Bowen's disease is intraepidermal squamous cell carcinoma, which is also less malignant skin carcinoma. It occurs in all the ages, but chiefly in adults and older. The clinical features of Bowen' disease mainly shows rounding, circumscribing, rufous or redness exanthema papulosum or patching in various sizes, covered by grayish white scales. With the development of the course, its surface can break and lead to reddened erosions. About 8% of untreated cases may progress to invasive squamous cell carcinoma. Histopathologically, Bowen's disease shows thickening spinous layer of epidermis, epidermis papillae extending, atypical hyperplasy of the epidermal cell arranging irregularly, pleomorphic nuclei can be found. Because of the low incidence, doctors may not pay more attention to Bowen's disease. Furthermore, the clinical features of Bowen's disease are similar with other cutaneous erythra such as Paget's disease, eczema, et al.
