Objective A new anterior cervical fuse frame(CFF) was designed to enhance the ability of the anterior cervical vertebra internal fixation device, restoration of spinal segment height and possibility of lone-term bone fusion, as well as to decrease the difficulty of procedure when implanting the prosthesis. The biomechanics, correlative tools and clinical application of the CFF were investigated.Method Anterior cervical fuse frame for Chinese were designed and manufactured, its biomechanics and correlative tools were studied. This study was divided into three parts. Part one: The design of CFF. On basis of literature, the size of CFF for Chinese was obtained and prototype of CFF was manufactured with Titanium alloy. The material and functional characteristic of CFF were also described. Part two is for biomechanical study of CFF.36 functional spinal unit came from fresh normal goat and were assigned into A and B 2 big groups randomly, each big group random assign into 3 little groups, group A is Only bone graft, group B is the functional spinal unit was fixed respectively with frame. The mechanical experimental study including pull-out test, vertical compression and lateral compression were performed and a comparative study was made. Part three is designing the correlative tools. For the demanding of the clinic, a set of fixing tools were devised.
