Glutaraldehyde is a broad-spectrum disinfectant with high efficient, low simulation, low corrosion, low toxicity and high stability characteristic. As a cool sterilizer, it has been widely used in disinfection for medical instruments. In recent years, the numbers of factories which producing glutaraldehyde disinfectant are increased greatly. In these factories, the products of glutaraldehyde disinfectant have different types. But their product quality is variant. We used these germicidal products with the manual and"Technical Standard for Disinfection"in our actual work. But this method could not utilize the germicidal efficacy of glutaraldehyde disinfectant completely and describe all characters of this disinfectant. It's also hard to give us the information which as scientific evidence helps us to instruct application. So, it is necessary for us to make system analysis of germicidal efficacy of glutaraldehyde disinfectant. In this study, the assays of measuring of content of glutaraldehyde, the germicidal efficacy in suspending solution or in (simulative) locale or on carrier, the determining about affecting factors of germicidal efficacy, the measuring about accelerated stability, the capacity consume of disinfectant had been used to observe the characters and the germicidal efficacy rules of Jieyipai glutaraldehyde disinfectant. And in order to know the corrosiveness and acute toxicity, metal corrosion test and animal toxicity test were carried out.Our research work provided an experimental basis for system evaluation of the quality of glutaraldehyde disinfectants. The results are as follows:1. The Jieyipai glutaraldehyde disinfectant consisted of three components, A ,B and C. The A reagent is glutaraldehyde adding with 0.25% polyoxyethylene aliphatic alcohol ether. Used as rust-proof agent, the B reagent is sodium nitrite. The C reagent is sodium bicarbonate as buffer. Blend the reagents A, 5g/L rust-proof agent and 0.4g/L buffer when using. The concentration of glutaraldehyde was decreased with the adding of sodium nitrite.
