Objectives:To investigate the clinical manifestations of the HIV/AIDS patients and the relationship among CD4+T cell count, opportunistic infections (OIs) and plasma viral load.Methods:143 HIV/AIDS patients who were diagnosed in Peking Union Madical College Hospital were enrolled in this study. Clinical manifestations and OIs were classified and analysed. Results:Among 143 HIV/AIDS patients, 57 patients had no symptom, 86 patients had symptoms including fever (50 cases), weight loss (18 cases) and complains of respiratory system (34 cases), gastrointestinal system (16 cases), and derma and mucosa (17 cases). OIs such as pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (27 cases, 34.6% of the total cases), oropharyngeal candidiasis (16 cases, 20.5%), tuberculosis (15 cases, 19.2%) and cytomegalovirus infection (9 cases, 11.5%) were observed in this research. All of the OIs occurred when CD4~+T cell count was less than 200/mm~3. Cytomegalovirus infection and oropharyngeal candidiasis always occurred when the count of CD4+ T cell less than 100/mm3. The negative correlationship between CD4~+T cell count and viral load was also confirmed in this research. Conclusion:Fever and weight loss were the most common general symptoms in HIV/AIDS patients. Respiratory system, gastrointestinal system, derma and mucosa were the most common involved parts of OIs. Some kinds of OIs happened at specific level of CD4~+T cell count. Our study may acquaint the physicians with the useful information of HIV/AIDS patients.
