Objective With the change of life style and habit of the diet, the number of the patients who have various risk factors increases obviously. This group have more dangerance to coronary heart disease. How can we cull the patients who gather high risk factors in this throng as early as possible and give an enhance to intervene are the demands of the prevention of cardiolvascular disease. Studies had found that adipocytes produce and secrate a variety of protein which the structure of organize and function conceptualized as adipocytokines. Adiponectin is a recently discovered adipocytokine which is expressed in white adipose tissue. Many studies show that it is found to be decreased in patients with obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and Metsyn. The objective of this study is to explore the relationship between incidence of coronary heart disease and adiponectin and the predictive values of adiponectin for coronary artery disease. Methods All subjects were enrolled from in-patients in Shanxi cardiovascular disease hospital and Taiyuan centrol hospital from Devembe 2005 to January 2006 who underwent coronary angiography. We studied total of 90 patients. These included fifty-nine patients with CAG(+) and thirty-one CAG(-). Serum Adiponectin is assayed by ELISA and fasting insulin with RIA meanwhile were recorded age, sex, height, weight, waise, history of hypertension, smoking, diabetes, and the time of keeping on and the level of the control. Results Serum adiponectin levels in the CAD(+) patients were significantly lower than those in the CAG(-) subjects [(1.17±0.90mg/L vs 1.51±1.48mg/L,P<0.05)] Adiponection levels was negatively correlated with BMI,Lp(a) and fasting insulin (r=-0.22, -0.23, -0.48, respectively, P<0.05), and was significantly postively correlated with insulin sentivity index (r2=0.46, P<0.01)。Conlusions In patients with CAG(+) the sterum adiponectin level is significantly decreased than in the CAG(-) .As a preventive factor ,adiponectin prevents the development from metabolism syndrom to CHD.
