Objective: to study and evaluate the clinical efficiency of Dr. Deng' s CHD capsules for the treatment of stable angina pectoris in coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods: The patients brought into the trial were received two weeks' introduction period (include: stopping using anti-angina pectoris drugs, when angina pectoris attacks, using nitroglycerin and recording the location, frequency, duration, degree, the amount of activity inducing angina and dosage of nitroglycerin.). The patients were divided into two groups using one-blind randomlized way. The patients in control group use compound Dansen Diwan and the ones in treatment group use Dr. Deng' s CHD capsules. The trival lasted three months. Observing and comparing curative effect parameters changes of each group before trial and after trial and evaluating clinical symptoms effect changes between two groups. Results: There were 60 patients who have finished the trial. They all came from Cardiac centre of Guangdong province hospital of traditional Chinese medicine. 30 patients were in treatment group and the others were in control group. After 3 month' s treatment, every curative effect parameters were observed and recorded. Using statistical way, the research results show: There are significant differences in the curative effect parameters compared with the ones before treatment in each group. (P<0. 05) and there are no sigif icant differences in the clinical symptoms effect change after treatment between two groups. (P>0.05). The angina pectoris clinical efficacy rate has no differences between two groups(P>0. 05) for the treatment group is 86.7% and the control group is 90%.There are significant differences in the curative effect parameters (P<0. 05) such as angina pectoris attack times each week, the total dosage of nitroglycerin used each week, the duration of angina attackand so on, but there are no differences between two groups(P>0. 05).The totalECG efficacy rate is 76.7% in treatment group and the one is 70% in contralgroup. There are no significant differences in ECG efficacy in two groups. Nosignificant differences in treadmill exercise test (P>0. 05)are showed in twogroups, which total efficacy is 52.9% in treatment group and 53.3% in contralgroup. Conclusion: Dr. Deng' s CHD capsules is effective in treating stable anginapectoris which belongs to qi deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis in traditonalChinese medicine. It is an effective Chinese patent medicine which is similarwith compoud Dansen Diwan in therapy.
