Objectives: To investigate the effect of quercetin on proliferation apoptosis ECM and MCP-1 production of rat mesangial cells cultured in vitro. Methods: Rat mesangial cells were incubated with different concentration of quercetin. Cell proliferation was assessed by MTT colorimetric assay. Cell cycle and cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry respectively, fibronectin typeIVcollagen and MCP-1 contents were detected by ELISA. For the detection of TGF-β1, immunohistochemical method was used. Results:1. The effect of quercetin on proliferation of mesangial cells: During 5-20mmol/L concentration, quercetin could significantly inhibit mesangial cells proliferation in dose and time-dependent manner, compared with conrtol group (P<0.05) .2. The effect of quercetin on cell cycle of mesangial cells: From low concentration to high concentration , quercetin could subsequently increased the cells in G0 / G1 phase and decreased...
