Objective To investigate the relationship of right pleural effusion after hepatectomy with various risk factors ,and search for the cause of right pleural effusion.Method Retrospective study 770 hepatectomy cases in general surgery department of HUA XI hospital since 1999 to 2005, and find out the cases who suffered right pleural effusion after operations (120 cases) . 240 random samples were found out from 650 cases without pleural effusion. Many factors, such as the index of hepatic function before and after the operation, the operation manipulability, and other conditions after the operation, were compared between two groups. Next, 120 cases with effusion were divided into 2 groups according to the description of B-ultrasound: Cases of a little pleural effusion were divided into G1, and mass effusion G2. The same factors were compared, then conclude the causes of right pleural effusion. Results The ratio of cases which received right hepatctomy, ratio of cases whose diaphragms were eroded, ratio of cases with ascites and ratio of cases which had effusion accumulated under the diaphragms were all higher...
