| At first, the literature of western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) about childhood Hp-related gastritis was reviewed. Then etilogical factors, pathogenesis and treatment by differentiating syndromes of childhood epigastralgia throughout the ages in China also were reviewed. After analyzing all these literature, the treatment by differentiating syndromes on the disease was made.Based on the summary of the theortical knowledge and clinical experience of professor Wang shouchuan about childhood Hp-related gastritis, the standpoint of treating childhood Hprelated gastritis by cold and heat differentiating method was put forward. The main therapy of childhood Hp-related gastritis in the research were warming the spleen and replenishing the middle energizer, clearing away heat from the stomach and regulating qi, warming the spleen and clearing away heat from the stomach. 54 cases who were diagnosed as epigastralgia with positive Hp antibody were divided into three groups by differentiating: asthenic cold of the spleen and stomach, qi stagnation due to stomach heat, spleen deficiency and stomach heat .There were 30 children who met the criterion of the clinic study in total. The clinical effect of them were observed, including the painful degree of epigastralgia, the number of times of episode, eructation and acid regurgitation, nausea and vomiting, dry mouth, bitter taster and foul breath before and after treatment.The study of medical theory showed that nowadays Hp-related gastritis is a common disease of childhood digestive system .In recent years, the therapy which has good effect, less side effect and no tolerance in treating the disease has been probed into a lot. However, an ideal therapy has not been found. But if patients were treated by differentiating syndromes according to TCM, they would improve the symptoms.
