Objective:1 To determine whether insulin resistance existed in ischemic stroke patients and whether insulin resistance had correlation with risk factors for stroke.2 To determine whether insulin resistance could cause cerebral macroangiopath or cerebral microangiopath. 3 To determine whether insulin resistance could influnce prognosis of ischemic stroke patients and whether insulin resistance was a independent prognosis factor of ischemic stroke. Methods: 106 patients who did not suffer diabetes mellitus and obesity were chosed as study group , 48 with cerebral lacunar infarct and 58 with cerebral atherothrombotic infarct , within 72 hours of stroke onset. Venous blood samples were drawn from each subject within 24 hours of admission for measurement of fast plasma glucose, fast insulin and blood lipid, at the same time, blood pressure was measured and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) was calculated. Four weeks after stroke onset, fast plasma glucose and fast insulin were measured again , and ADL and Clinical nerve function deficiency score (CNFDS) were assessed.50 healthy persons whose gender and age were matched to study group were chosed as control group. Results:1 comparison with control group, study group had significantly higher fast plasma insulin and significantly lower ISI at acute term and convalescence, the differences reached statistical significance(P<0. 05) ;comparison with LCI group, ATCI group...
