Studies On Anti Ischemic Effects Of Tartary Wheat Flavone(TWF)

The anti ischemia effects of tartary wheat flavone(TWF) were studied by constructing experimental animal models of cerebral ischemia, acute renal failure and diabetes mellitus (DM) by streptozotocin(STZ) in this paper.Effects of TWF on the increasing free radical and confusion of energetic metabolism were monitored by determining the content of Na⁺-K⁺-ATPase , lactic acid(LA), creatine kinase(CK), glutathione(GSH) and malondiadiahyde(MDA) in brain tissue in cerebral ischemia injured mice.The results showed that the content of LA, CKand MDA were obviously reduced in brain tissue in cerebral ischemic mice, while Na⁺-K⁺-ATPase and GSH content was increased following TWF(ig, 50,100,200 mg·kg^-1). All those results indicated that TWF had anti ischemic effects on the increasing of free radical and confused energetic metabolism in ischemic brain tissue. TWF had obvious anti ischemic effects.Diabetic rats were induced by streptozotocin,which induced to form indirectly obstacle of microcirculation and ischemia in tissue, to determine the content of MDA ,GSH and Na⁺-K⁺-ATPase in brain tissue in diabetes mellitus(DM) rats.Results suggested that the content of MDA was remarkably decreased in brain tissue in diabetes melitus(DM) rats, while Na⁺-K⁺-ATPase and GSH content were increased by TWF (ig, 20,40,80 mg·kg^-1) treatment. All those results indicated that TWF had anti schemia effects on the DM model.At same time ,the results of determining the blood flow and microcirculation in sciatic nerve in DM rats demonstrated that the blood flow and microcirculation in sciatic nerve in DM rats could be remarkably improved by TWF (ig, 20,40,80 mg·kg^-1) treatment. All those results indicated that TWF had anti schemic effects.By closing the renal artery in dogs to form the acute renal failure and the experimental results showed that the urine volume were significantly increased, serum creatinine (Scr) and blood urea nitrogen(BUN) could be remarkably decreased by TWF(iv,20,50 mg·kg^-2) treatenrment.
