Hepatocelluar apoptosis is recognized as an important mechanism in toxic liver injury, and may also be associated with liver fibrogenesis and development of cirrhosis. Thus, the inhibition of apoptosis holds promise as a therapeutic strategy for human liver diseases.Apoptosis is prominent in experimental ethanol-induced liver injury, and has recently been described in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and alcoholic steatohepatitis (ASH).However, only a few studies referred potential mechanism between apoptosis and disease severity in human steatohepatitis.Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) is a multipotent transcription factor, modulates expression of various proinflammatory and immune response genes, which results in increased expression of proinflammatory crtokines and chemokines, and has been found associated with necrosis and inflammation.Hepatocelluar apoptosis and activation of NF-κB may contribute to the occurrence, development of fat liver disease. Objective:To investigate the role of hepatocyte apoptosis and activation of NF-kB in the liver of rats with nonalcoholic fat liver disease. Methods:Totally 40 SD rats were assigned randomly into 2 groups:model group with 30 rats, giving a fat-rich diet that consisted of fat-rich diet, 10% lard oil and 2%...
