Objective:To Investigate the clinical features of infantile purulent meningitis(PM) with subdural effusion(SE).Methods:The medical records of 67 PM cases complicated with SE hospitalized in Children's Hospital affiliated to Chongqing University of Medical Sciences from January 1996 to December 2005,were reviewed and the clinical features were analyzed.Result:(1)The ratio of boys versus girls was 2.5:1;85.1% of the patients were aged between 1~7 months.(2)The incidence of PM with SE among 4 seasons(spring,summer,autumn,winter) showed no significant difference.(3)85.1% of the patients had received antibiotic treatment before admission.(4)The main symptoms and signs of the patients included fever, increased intracranial pressure,seizure,positive Babinski sign,meningeal irritation sign,alteration of muscular tone,conscious disturbance, paralysis, alteration of pupil light reflex and facial paralysis.Fever(86.6%),increased intracranial pressure(77.6%)and seizure(59.7%)were the most common symptoms.(5)Assistant examination:The positive rates of cranial CT and...
