Objective: Research on the expressions and values of multidrug resistance genes, including P-gp,MRP,LRP,TopoIIαand GST-π, in intracranial tumors of children. The multidrug resistance mechanisms of the intracranial tumors of the children were studied, which supply clues for the choice of the anticancer drug in chemotherapy schedule and judgement for the prognosis of the children with intracranial tumors .Methods: The expressions of P-gp,MRP,TopoIIα,LRP and GST-πwere detected in 38 intracranial tumor cases by Streptavidin-Peroxidase immunohistochemistry (IC) staining method, and 10 normal brain tissue cases were did as the control. Results: (1)Of all 38 cases, the strong positive expression rates of P-gp,MRP,LRP,GST-πand TopoIIαare 25(65.8%), 17(44.7%), 17(44.7%), 23(60.5%)and 18(47.4%)respectively, and 10% positive expression of P-gp and no expressions of others were detected in the normal brain tissues. The expressions of the 4 proteins in the 2 groups were difference (p < 0.01) .(2) The positive expression rates of P-gp in...
