Objective: To develop a method for recording vesical electromyographic activity from body surface by systematically evaluating whether abdominal surface electromyography is representative of vesical electrical and contractile events. And therefore to search for a noninvasive method for recording vesical activity.Methods: Electrical activity was acquired by using of bipolar electrodes attached simultaneously to the vesical wall and to the abdominal surface of rabbits. Intravesical pressure was recorded with a pressure transducer inserted in the vesical cavity.
