Objective:To explore the changes of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),Endostatin (ES), malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the effects of propofol on these factors in rats following cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. Methods:88 male SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: the sham-operated group (A) 8 cases, the operated group (B) 40 cases and the propofol group (C) 40 cases. The group B or group C was divided into 5 time points of 6 hours, 24 hours, 2 days, 4 days and 7days with 8 rats of each time points. Cerebral middle-sized artery ischemic rat model was established by thread-ligation methods. Before reperfusion the group C rats were administered via intraperitoneal injection with 100mg/kg of propofol. After 24h reperfusion the group A rats were decapitated. The group B and group C rats were killed at different time points. When MCAO model was established, items below should be observed:1. Neurological function score were measured after 6h, 24h, 2d, 4d, 7d reperfusion.2. Cerebral slices were stained with triphenyl tetrazolium choride (TTC) and the infract volume was calculated.3. The level of malonic dialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in serum were measured with absorption spectrometry.
