Objective:Analyze retrospectively the clinical features, diagnostic methods and operation modus of 161 cases of hilar cholangiocarcinoma patients treated in our hospital in order to investigate the disease in more detail, and approach the relationships between the clinical stage, operation modus, histopathology results and the prognosis by the means of follow-up investigation on the patients after operation in our hospital. Methods:The clinical features, diagnostic methods, operation modus, clinical classification and histopathology results of the 161 cases of hilar cholangiocarcinoma patients were analyzed retrospectively. And the follow-up investigation on 106 cases of patients has been made by the means of following-up of outpatient, mail and telephone, so as to compare statistically the correlations between the operation modus, clinical classification, histopathology results and the life span after operation. Results:Radical excision had been performed in 56 cases out of the 161 cases of the hilar cholangiocarcinoma patients, with the excision rate of 34.8%, palliative therapy had been performed in 81 cases, exploratory laparotomy had been performed in 5 cases, liver transplantation had been performed in 1 case, and 18 cases had given up treatment and discharged due to various kinds of causes. The follow-up has been made on the 36 cases of patients out of those 56 patients who had performed radical excision, the survival rates of one year, three years, and five years were 55.6%, 30.6%, and 8.4%, respectively, and the longest life span of one patient after operation was 6 years, who is still living up to now.
