Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safe of treatment with corticotropin (ACTH)on the lipid metabolism, proteinuria and renal function in renal allograft recipients. Methods: The researches included two parts: (1) A total of 6 renal recipients(6 have proteinuria,3 have hyperlipemia) who were selected randomly received ACTH intramuscularly 1mg/ d for 4 days. Serum concentrations of lipids, lipoproteins, apolipoproteins and blood creatinine were analyzed.(2) After the ACTH treatment(1mg/d*4), ACTH was administered to all of them(1mg once a week) for 3 months. Serum concentrations of lipids, lipoproteins, apolipoproteins , urine protein and renal function were analyzed. Results: (1) After the short-term treatment for 4 days, the ACTH treatment led to marked reductions in serum concentration of TG,apoB,apoA1 and blood creatinine ,while serum concentrations of HDL-C increased.(2) Two patients had a relapse after the treatment, four patients aggravated. The serum concentration of HDL-C and apoB increased, while...
