Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) refers to a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids that exist as positional and geometric isomers of linoleic acid (LA;18:2). CLA possess many beneficial physiologic effects including reducing the development of atherosclerosis, enhancing growth, regulating immune function, improving type II diabetes and decreasing accumulation of body fat while increasing lean body mass.Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are a kind of nuclear transcriptional factors, belonging to the nuclear receptor superfamily. Researches are shown that CLA acts as ligands of PPAR . The physiological functions of PPARs protein include cell differentiation, metabolic and immune regulation. Fatty acid synthase(FAS) and acetyl-CoA carboxylase(ACC) are two key enzymes during fatty acid synthase in liver tissue. The function of ACC is to catalyze acetyl-CoA's carboxylation to malonyl-CoA. The function of FAS is to catalyze the composition from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA to long-chain fatty acids.FAS and ACC can have effect on lipid metabolism...
