Motorcycle traffic injury is a frequently seen injury in traffic accidents. Today it is becoming more and more popular because of the steady increase in the number of motorcycles. Based on the laboratory field and testing equipment of the new-built crash laboratory in our university, we designed and then built the experimental equipment such as the motorcycle impacting system and a dummy physical model. Based on the frequently seen types of the motorcycle traffic injury, we divided the study into two parts: one was the simulating experimental study on the injury model of the pedestrian's impact injuries inflicted by a motorcycle, and the other was the simulating experimental study on the injury model of the ejection injury of the motorcycle driver. The main results and conclusions are as follows:1. The self-designed motorcycle impacting system included motorcycle sled , single-rail driving machine and absorbing device, which can well simulate the course of the two kinds of motorcycle traffic injury. Further more, the capability of whole experimentation system was stable and the velocity precision of the 30 cases animal experiments were all in control of±1%.2. The self-designed dummy physical model for pedestrian was close to HybridⅢdummy in stature, mass and main joint. The animal could be cased and taken out easily. Further more, the model had other merits such as low-cost and durable.3.After impacted by front-wheel of motorcycle, the movements of pedestrian were as follows: First, front-wheel of motorcycle impacted the knee joint of pedestrian; then, the pedestrian circumgyrated surrounding the front-wheel of motorcycle;later,the motorcycle decelerated suddenly because of braking .After aerial circumrotation, the head-shoulder of pedestrian first bumped the floor or the limbs first bumped the floor. The greater the impacting velocity was, the farther the distance of the pedestrian was and the longer the time of aerial circumrotation was.
