Objective: To investigate the expression of MVD(Microvascular density), VEGF(vascular endothelial growth factor) and Endostatin in NSCLC(non-small cell lung cancer) and explore their significance. Methods: The expression of MVD,VEGF and endostatin were detected using immunohistochemical in 79 lung cancer tissue and 12 normal tissue. The result of VEGF and En were analyzed with computer image analysis(IA) system. With mannal counting, the immunohistochemical(IHC) results on NSCLC which represent positive expression of CD34 was analyzed. Results: The expression of MVD,VEGF and endostatin in NSCLC tissues was significantly higher than benign pulmonary tissues (P<0.05); The expression of endostatin, MVD and VEGF weren't related to the histological classification (P>0.05);The expression of MVD,VEGF and endostatin were related to P-TNM and lymph node stage(P<0.05), but not to sex, age of the patients with NSCLC(P>0.05);The expression of VEGF was related to the size of primary tumor (P<0.05),but not to MVD and endostatin (P>0.05).The expression of VEGF was related to En in benign lung tissue (P<0.05) , but not in lung cancer(P>0.05). Conclusion: (1) The expression of endostatin and VEGF in NSCLC cancer tissues might be helpful to evaluate the biological behavior of lung cancer. (2) Endostatin and VEGF have relationship in benign lung tissue, but not in NSCLC of stage I , II and III; MVD has relationship with endostain and VEGF in benign and malignant lung tissue.
