The Study Of Autologous Periosteum Wrapping Tendon Graft Improves Tendon Healing Inside A Bone Tunnel

Objective: The experiment was designed to evaluate whether it can improve tendon healing inside a bone tunnel,when the periosteal graft was wrapped around the tendon. Fixation and appropriate integration of tendon or ligament to bone is a challenging problem. Various fixation methods have been used to secure soft tissue to bone, such as staples, sutures, endobuttons, or bioabsorbable soft tissue screws in the bone tunnel. Although some experimental studies have reported the mechanical strength data of various fixation methods, the literature is sparse concerning the advantage of any method over another. Rotator cuff repairs, collateral ligament reconstructions, cruciate ligament reconstructions in the knee,secure fixation and the structural integrity of the tendon-bone interface is the key of the success of the surgeries. Clinically, lack of rigid, biocompatible fixation of soft tissue to bone has caused complications at the reconstructive site.
