Objective: To study the expression and their immuno-logical significance of MHC-I, MHC-II, CD80, CD86 and CD1 la in gastric cancer and colorectal cancer. To investigate the relationships between the expression of MHC-I, MHC-II, CD80, CD86 and CD11a and clinical pathological characteristics in gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, and to reveal the possible mechanisms by which tumors escape from surveillance of the body. To provide more theoretical evidence for the improvements of immunotherapy and gene therapy for tumor. Methods: Fresh tumor tissues were obtained from 32 patients with gastric or colorectal adenocancer, who underwent surgery in Dep. of Surgery, Second Affiliated Hospital of Hebei Medical University in 2005. Histopathological examination and staging of the tumors were performed on routine fixed and paraffin-embedded sections stained with haematoxylin and eosin. All of the specimens from 32 cases were proved to be primary locus by pathological examination postoperatively. No cases received adjuvant radiotherapy or chemotherapy before the operation. Benign gastrointestinal mucosal tissues obtained from 10 patients with benign diseases were used as controls. All...
