Objective: There is close relationship between pregnancy and the quality of oocyte in in vitro fertilization (IVF). Therefore, it is important to acquire high-quality oocyte. The aim of this study is to approach the relationship between oocyte maturity and follicular diameter on the day of ovulation induction, the volume of follicular fluid in corresponding follicles, the concentrations of estradiol (E2), progesterone (P), testosterone (T), macrophage inflammatory protein-3α(MIP-3α), Superoxide dismutase (SOD) in follicular fluid, the ratio of E2/P and E2/T. The fertilization and cleavage grades of each oocyte were observed to approach the relationship between the indexes and the developing potential of them. The study may provide the theory base that how to acquire oocytes with higher developing potential.Methods: The study was performed on eighty follicles of thirty women who had undergone IVF-ET because of fallopian tubal factor in the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University from Jan 2005 to Jun 2005.
