Object: Experimental studies revealed that statins could delay the development of heart failure, reduce the mortality rate of it. Statins is effective on the ischemic and non-ischemic HF. Besides lowering lipid, statins has the function of anti- inflammation, the improvement of endothelial dysfunction, the anti- oxidation, the promotion newborn vascularization, restoring the nervus autonomicus and so on .All these functions are beneficial of HF. We observed the clinical effect of the CHF patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy after short-term statin therapy, and measured serum inflammtion markers and endothelial function markers to evaluate effect of statins on the CHF patients.Method: Randomized controlled study. The CHF patients were randomly divided into 2 treatment groups, the conventional treatment group (n=27) and simvastatin group (n=24).The conventional treatment included the diuretic,β-blockers, ACE inhibitors and so on. Besides the general treatment, simvastatin 20 mg/d were added to the simvastatin group. We appraised the New York Heart Association (NYHA) function class, 6 minutes walks test(6-MWT) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in the ultrasonic cardiogram, and determined blood serum TNF- alpha, BNP and blood plasma ET-1 level, as well as lipid level before and after 14 weeks treatment respectively.Results:①Statins curative effect observation: Compared with the conventional treatment group, simvastatin improved NYHA heart function, and increased LVEF.These have significant effect (P<0.05),also change of 6-MWT in simvastatin group has the significant effect (P<0.05).The brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) get to be the target of HF treatment. In this study, simvastatin lowering serum levels of BNP have significant effect(P<0.05).②At baseline measurements, levels of BNP,TNF-α,ET-1 were high relative to referrence levels(all,P<0.05).③The anti-inflammation function of statins: Compared with the conventional treatment group, simvastatin lowering serum levels of TNF-αhave significant effect after 12 weeks treatment (P<0.05).④The improvement of endothelial dysfunction with statin therapy: After 12 weeks treatment, simvastatin lowering plasma levels of ET-1 have significant effect compared with the conventional treatment group (P<0.05).⑤TC,LDL-C: After 12 weeks treatment, simvastatin lowering serum levels of TC,LDL-C have significant effect compared with the conventional treatment group (P<0.05),also there were no...
