Objective: To understand the distribution of risk factors and the prevalence of main chronic disease, and analyze the effects of risk factors on chronic disease in order to provide evidence for developing policy and intervention strategy and for adopting specific measure for chronic disease control and prevention.Methods: The method of sampling was taken the multistage stratified random sampling. The investigation was made in Xinghualing district, Pingding county and Jiangxian county. In field investigation all subjects were investigated by uniform questionnaires and methods, using the manner of concentrated and in-door investigation which were combined according to the project of China chronic disease risk factor surveillance. The investigation included questionnaires and medical check-up. The risk factors of main chronic diseases were analyzed by case-control study,data entry, cleaning and analysis were made using SPSS13.0. Descriptive analysis was made using frequencies and multi-variable analysis was made using no-conditional logistic regression.Results:1330 inhabitants were surveyed. The number of the male was 517, which accounted for 38.9%; the female was 813, which accounted for 61.1%. Results as follow.1. The rate of smoking was 30.1% among all subjects and male was 69.8%, which was higher than the rate of male(61%) in 1996 and ascended 14.43%. The average of age was 23 when all subjects begin to smoke. the rate of male smoking was significantly higher than female. Smoking began at the average of 23. The site of passive smoking was room, accounted for 69.7% The rate of drinking was 36.5%. the rate of male is 14 times than female. The result shown that the rate of smoking and drinking were increased with the increasing of the age. The rate of smoking and drinking are difference among different occupation.2. The study investigated physical activity and exercise. 27.4% of persons often take exercise and 18 aged group and 30 aged group account for lower proportion (7.5%,16.3%).3. The rate of overweight and obesity was 29.8% 24.1%,among which ,the rate of obesity was 17.6 and the rate of obesity was 28.2. 24.1%.BMI of female is higher than male (p<0.05). The rate of overweight and obesity is difference among different age group and the highest rate of overweight and obesity is in 30 age group(32.1%) and 50 age group(28.3%).
