A Comparative Study On Dog-days Auto-moxibustion And Ordinary Auto-moxibustion In The Treatment Of Bronchial Asthma And Clinic Exertion

Asthma is a refractory disease associated with chronic bronchial inflammation, whose syndromes are recurrent grasp, dyspnea, stuff chest of cough, then even orthopnea. This disease severely influences patients on health and life. The incidence and the mortality of asthma show the ascendant trend both. So, people paid more and more attention to preventing and curing asthma.The modern medicine considers that asthma is a chronic nonspecific airway inflammation by kinds of inflammatory cells infiltrating, but the mechanisms of asthma is not clear until now.TCM has accumulated enormous experiences of herbs, external treatment, health cultivation etc. for asthma with improved knowledge of the disease's pathogenesis and innovation of treatment. Auto-moxibustion is an ancient and effective external therapy, and it had significant effectiveness on treatment of asthma. But traditional auto-moxibustion been carried out only on dog-days, and it interferes the development of auto-moxibustion. In this clinical study, ordinary auto-moxibustion are carried out together with dog-days auto-moxibustion to investigate the therapeutic effect of dog-days auto-moxibustion and ordinary auto-moxibustion in the treatment of bronchial asthma. Immunoglobulin E(IgE) , lymphocyte transformation rate(LTR) , count of eosinophile granulocyte and lung function FEVl were choose to be observation indexes.162 patients from the acupuncture department of the first affliated hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM were selected according to strict diagnosis standard, adopting norm and exclusion criterion, with 82 cases is the dog-days auto-moxibustion group and 80 cases is the ordinary auto-moxibustion group. The herbs and the points is same between the two groups,the patients were treated respectively on dog-days and ordinary days. Immunoglobulin E(IgE) , lymphocyte transformation rate(LTR) . count of eosinophile granulocyte and lung function FEVl were detected separately before and after auto-moxibustion treatment. Results of the study were indicated as follows. According to the statistic analysis, self-comparison in each group showed that immunoglobulin E levels and count of eosinophile granulocyte after treatment decreased significantly (P<0.01). lymphocyte transformation rate(LTR) and increased significantly (P<0.01). Level of lung function FEVl increased significantly (P<0.05). Compared the immunoglobulin E (IgE) , count of eosinophile granulocyte and lymphocyte transformation rate(LTR) levels of the two groups after the treatment, found that the curative effect was similar (P>0. 05). besides, 80 patients were selected according to strict diagnosis standard, adopting norm and exclusion criterion, with 42 cases is the geng-days group and 38 cases is the xin-days group. The herbs and the points is same between the two groups, the patients were treated respectively on geng-days and xin-days. the curative effect were compared after a course of treatment, and the consequence indicate that the curative effect was similar, the total effective rate both are 95%.After all, results of the study indicated that ordinary auto-moxibustion also is effective and worth to be applied generally, auto-moxibustion treatment perhaps work by the effect of herbs and acupoints mainly, probably have little relation with the treantment time.
