Objective: to study the clinico-pathological features in xinjiang uigur and Chinese patients with primary IgA nephropathy. Methods: to revieve the cases of forty-six uigur and seventy-one Chinese primary IgA nephropathy patients between June1999 and October2005 in the People's General Hospital of Xinjiang and analyse their epidemiological features, clinical manifestations, laboratory findigs and renal pathologic features. A male to female ratio of 1.09:1 and 1.03 :1(uigur: Chinese). Results: Fourty-six (17.9%) uigur patiens and seventy-one (15.2%) Chinese patients with the range 29.32±10.09 and 34.72±10.73 years of age were enrolled in this study. Clinically, microhematuria and nephritic mild proteinuria were noticeable clinical characteristics of the uigur and Chinese patients, their renal function were normal or mild insufficiency. However, hypertention, anemia were low. Proteinuria (nephritic range) hypoprotenemia increased serum IgA level of uigur patients were higher than that in Chinese patients. The two groups of uigur and Chinese patients were main characteristic of mesangial capillary glomerulone-phritis. Pathologically, small cell crescents, small cell fibrous crescents, glomeruli-Bowman's capsule adhesion, glomerular scleroses, tubular atrophy, interstitial fibrosis were were markedly lower in uigur patiens than that in Chinese patients. All of cases in both groups had IgA deposition in glomeruli. No significant difference was found in the...
