Objective:1 To assess the safety and the serum level of sex hormone of medroxyprogesterone and methyltestosterone, combined with Daefukangjiangao in the treatment of adenomyosis .2 To study the clinical effect of medroxyprogesterone and methyltestosterone , combined with Daefukangjiangao in the treatment of adenomyosis.Methods:Sixty cases of adenomyosis diagnosed by clinical symptoms ,bimanual examination or vagino-recto-abdominal examination and transvaginal ultrasound were randomized into two groups.Each group was treated with medroprogesterone (6mg per day) plus methyltesterone (10mg per day) for twelve days from 15 (th) day of the menstrual phase and continued for three months, Daefukangjiangao (20g per day) were combined to the cases in the test group in nonmenstrual phase. Blood and urine routine, liver and renal function, serum sex hormone were all detected before and after the treatment, the clinical symptoms and signs were investigated simultaneously, the uterine and adnexa were examined by transvaginal ultrasound.Results:1 ALT, BUN, FSH, LH, T, P, E2 and PRL showed no significant difference after 3-month treatment compared with that pre-treatment (P>0.05)2 Total subjective symptom scores of dysmenorrheal were decreased after 3-month treatment in two groups(P<0.01), and there was significant difference between the test group and the contral group after the therapy. (P<0.01)3 Hemoglobin is increased in two groups after 3-month treatment (P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between two groups after therapy. (P>0.05)4 The uterine volume was decreased compared with that pre-treatment in two groups (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference between two groups after therapy.
