Prostate cancer is now the sixth most common cancer in theworld, especially in European and American, and third in importancein men.Although, there are low incidence rate in our countrypopulation,it is increasing year by year with the prolong of meanlife and change of diet, and worse differentiation and highermalignant and worse prognosis. So it is very important that the earlydiagnosis of prostate cancer to therapy and prognosis. In order toprovide the credible basis, urologists and pathologists useefficient biology markers in clinical workers to the earlydiagnosis of the prostate cancer and judging the prognosis of theprostate cancer. We studied the wax specimens of the prostate cancer by theimmunohistochemistry analylsis, observed the expression of P504sand AR,and analysed the relation between the expression and theGleason sum of the prostate cancer, and judged malignant degree ofthe prostate cancer and estimated its prognosis.85 prostate cancerspecimens, including 58 prostate cancer confirming by ASP,15prostate cancer confirming by TURP,12 prostate cancer confirmingby RP.Patient's age is from 48 to 82,means 65.Among including 75prostatic adenocarcinomas,5 prostatic mucinous adenocarcinoma,5prostatic papillary carcinoma. That Gleason sum was below 7 is3,Gleason sum was equal to 7 is 10,Gleason sum was over 7 is 68cases.Other 30 prostate cancer specimens from Kobe University ofJapan were confirmed by RP,all prostate cancer with BPH,and 28prostate cancer with BCH.That Gleason sum was below 7 is 16,Gleasonsum was equal to 7 is 12,Gleason sum was over 7 is 2.All the sampleswere diagnosed by pathologist according to WHO histologicalclassification of tumors of the prostate in 2002.The positive rate of P504s was 55.42% in Chinese men and 96.67%in Japanese men respectively. The stain intensity of P504s in thewell/moderately differentiated prostate cancer was significantlyhigher than that in the poorly differentiated prostate cancer. TheChinese men positive rate of P504s was 53.45% in prostate canceron ASP,57.14% on TURP and 63.64% on RP.The Japanese men positiverate of P504s was 96.67% in prostate on RP.Gleason score have notcorrelated with P504s level in Chinese men and Japanese men, butChinese men Gleason score of expression of P504s was less thanJapanese men. The positive rate of AR was 36.14% in Chinese men and80.00% in Japanese men respectively. The positive staining wasmainly locate in the nuclei of prostate adenoepithelium.Itsexpression lies in normal prostate adenoepithelium,in benignprostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. The Chinese menpositive rate of AR was 34.48% in prostate cancer on ASP,42.86% onTURP and 40.00% on RP.The Japanese men positive rate of ARs was80.00% in prostate on RP.Gleason score have not correlated with ARlevel in Chinese men and Japanese men,but Chinese men Gleason scoreof expression of AR was less than Japanese men. These results suggest that P504s is a specific positive markerfor prostate cancer.P504s has high sensitivity and good specificityin the diagnosis of prostate cancer.P504s can help urologists andpathologists to confirm the diagnosis of prostatecancer, especially in ASP specimens.P504s also can be a new approachfor the etiology, and treatment research of prostate cancer.ARmainly expressed on the prostate adenoepithelium. The positiveexpression of AR in prostate cancer of Chinese men was lower thanthat in prostate cancer of Japanese men.It may be relation todifferentiation of prostate cancer. The content of AR in prostatecan be regarded as an objective index to judge prognosis of prostatecancer patients.
