Part â…  The Development, Reliability and Validity Examination ofBehavioral Principles Scale to Obsessive-compulsive Disorder Purpose: To develop a scale for the evaluating of the behavioral principles of Obsessive-compulsive Disorder (OCD) patients and to examine the reliability and validity of the scale. Objective and Methods:1. The primary Obsessive Behavioral principles scale (OBPS) includes 8 items, which is based on the Morita Theory and Professor Lee Thentao's theory on OCD.2. Preliminary test was carried out in 100 undergraduate students, and then checked in with them 3 months later, to examine the content validity and stability coefficients.3. A hospital sample was tested by SCL-90, YBOCS, and OBPS to examine the internal consistency, construction validity, and empirical validity of OBPS.4. The disease group was formed of 50 OCD patients (including the outpatients of Nan -kai Hospital and the General Hospital), selected 50 persons from the hospital sample to match the disease group forming the control group, in order to check in the empirical validity.Results:1. By the results of preliminary test, we analyzed the items and selected 8 items to form the final scale.2. â‘  By the factor analysis, there were 3 factors which could stand for 86.114% of variance. The correlation between the items and the scale ranged from0.616-0.929, and all the correlation coefficients were statistically significant (p?The correlation coefficients between the factor I and there composites ranged from 0.614-0.876. The correlation coefficient between the factor II and the including item was 0.890. The factor III was 0.344. The correlation coefficients between the factor and the total score were 0.431, 0.575 & 0.692, and all the correlation coefficients were statistically significant (p<0.01). (3) The correlation coefficients between the three factors were -0.148, -0.197 and -0.296, and all the correlation coefficients were statistically significant (p? The Cronbach's a coefficients was 0.928, and the factor I was 0.915,factor II was 0.939, factor III was 0.486.(D There were significantly positive correlation between the total score of OBPS and score of YBOCS and the Pearson correlation coefficients were 0.995, 0.997, 0.884(p<0.01), the Pearson correlation coefficients between the first and second test in the same population were 0.6748, 0.5674 and 0.5324 (p<0.01).3. In the disease group, the total score of OBPS was statistically higher than the control, the total scores of OBPS and YBOCS were statistically correlated, the correlation coefficient was 0.977 (p<0.01), there was significantly positive correlation between the total score of OBPS and the obsessive score of SCL-90(r=0.899,p<0.01).Conclusion: The reliability and validity of OBPS are good and meet the psychometric standard.Part II the study on Behavioral Principle of Obsessive-compulsive DisorderPatientsPurpose: To study and analyze the behavioral medical features of OCD patients by OBPS, compare the difference between the OCD patients and the normal control, to check which factor was more important, so that we could offer some useful information for diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of OCD.Objective and Methods:1. There were 50 OCD patients selected from 2 general hospitals from June, 2005 to March, 2006 formed the disease group. All of them were outpatients of clinical psychology department.2. The recruiting standard: ? Be accompanied to the diagnostic criteria in CCMD-3;(D the score of YOBCS was more than 16;? excluding every types of schizophrenia;? excluding the organic disease. There were 30 male OCD patients and 20 female.3. Choosing 50 inpatients or outpatients without mental disorder matched the gender, age, education proportion of disease group to form the control group. Only one resident doctor took charge of the whole interpretation, collection of data of OBPS, then inputting the data and analyzing them by SPSS 12.0 For Windows statistical package.Results:1. After the statistical analysis, there was no statistical significance between the two groups on the proportion of gender, age and education.2. There were statistical significance between the disease group and the control on the factors and total score of OBPS.3. In all the selected factors, the diagnosis factor, consideration principle and action principle was the top 3 by the Standardized Canonical Discriminant Function Coefficients and Canonical Discriminant Function Coefficients.Conclusion:1. There was statistically significant difference between the disease group and control group on all the items of OBPS. The patients kept more on consideration, fabrication, and exclusion principles, while kept less on action, fact, and purpose principles.2. During the contrast of all the principles' influence on OCD, the patients kept thinking too much with little action, which was the most striking aspect of the OCD patients' behavioral features, and played an important role in the development of OCD.3. The obsessive behavioral principles was important to the study of psychopathology of Obsessive-compulsive Disorder (OCD)...
