Objective: Colorectal cancer is a common malignancy ofalimentary tract in our coutry, its therapy include opration, actinotherapy and chemotherapy etc.By comparing the appliance ofthree chemotherapy in our department from June 2002 to May2004, we observe clinic curative effect and mostly adverse reactionbetween three chemotherapies.Method: We study 85 patients with chemotherapy afteroperation of China-Japan Union Hospital between June 2002 andMay 2004.28 patients with XELOX in group A.30 patients with5-FU/LV in group B.27 patients with 5-FU/LV/HCPT in group C.The median follow-up was 35.9 months. Compare 1-year to 3-yearoverall survival rate ,disease-free survival rate and complicationswith each other. Results: Comparison of overall survival rate between threegroup: There are no significant difference of 1-year overall survival;group A is significantly higher than group B and C in 2-year overallsurvival and 3-year overall survival (P<0.05). There are nosignificant difference between group B and C. Comparison ofdisease-free survival rate between three groups: There are nosignificant difference of 1-year and 2-year disease-free survival rate, group A is significantly higher than group B and C in 3-yeardisease-free survival rate (P<0.05), There are no significantdifference between group B and C. To patients of stage â…¡, groupA is significantly higher than group B and C in 3-year overallsurvival (P<0.05), There are no significant difference of 3-yeardisease-free survival rate between group B and C.The major adverse effects were diarrhea, myelosuppressionand nausea/vomiting in group B and C,the major adverse effect ofgroup A was neuro-sensory toxicity. Conclusions : 1,Group with XELOX is significantly higherthan groups with 5-FU/LV and 5-FU/LV/HCPT in 2-year and3-year overall survival,3-year disease-free survival rate. There areno significant difference of effect between group B and C. 2,Theeffect of XELOX is better than 5-FU/LV and 5-FU/LV/HCPT forpatients of stage â…¢ colorectal carcinoma. 3,Serious adverseeffects of group A were less than group B and C. 4,The toxicity ismild and tolerable for old patients.
