Background:AS is the most common disease in the world and a chronic progressive inflammatory disease. The pathogeny and the mechanism are still unclear. The pathology changes of AS are the arterial intima incrassation, and the smooth muscle cell hyperplasia, and lipid deposition and the information of the foam cells after the macrophages phagcytize lipids. In studies of AS, we find whether the animal experiments or the clinic researches indicate that peroxisome proliferator activated receptorγ(PPARγ) may involve in the process of AS and statin drugs not only reduce cholesterole, but also have the effects of anti- atherosclerosis. In order to investigate the expression of PPARγin AS and explore the effect of atorvastatin for PPARγand anti-atherosclerosis mechanism of atorvastatin, we have studied as follow:1. Building AS models of the rabbits1.1 Animals and groupsTwenty four male rabbits were randomly divided into the normal diet, and the cholesterol diet and the atorvastatin groups; each group was 8 and was fed for 16 weeks.1.2 Doing the pathology specimensAfter 16 weeks, the rabbits were put to death and the aortas were harvested for the pathologic morphology observations by means of H-E dye.1.3 The pathology view1.3.1 Naked view of AS Naked observations were found that the structure of the arterial walls was...
