Objective: To study the association between HLA-DR1 , 3, 15 genes and the feature of allergic rhinitis and to compare the level of IL-4 and IFN-y cytokine among a xinjiang population of the han nationality. Methods: HLA-DR1 , 3, 15 alleles were conducted in 42 patients with allergic rhinitis and 45 normal controls from xinjiang with Polymerase Chain Reaction-sequence specific primer(PCR-ssp). The level of IL-4 and IFN-y were detected by ELISA. Results: the frequency of HLA-DR1, 15 is higher in patients with allergic rhinitis(AR) than that in normal controls (p<0.05). the averrage level of IL-4 and the ratio of IL-4/IFN-γ is higher in patients with allergic rhinitis(AR) than that in normal controls (p<0.01).the averrage level of IFN-γ is lower than that in normal controls (p<0.01). the averrage level of IL-4 is higher in HLA-DR15 gene positives than that in HLA-DR15 gene negatives in patitents with AR (p<0.05). Conclusion: patients with AR is associated with high frequency of HLA-DR1 and HLA-DR 15, HLA-DR3 is not associated with AR.the level of IL-4 cytokine is higher in HLA-DR 15 gene positives than that in HLA-DR15 gene negatives in patients with AR.
