It was reported that Sinocalamus affinis has transparent actions of stopping coughing, apophlegmating, relieving from asthma; Sinocalamus affinis is effective for diseases such as acute episode of chronic bronchitis, acute bronchitis, bronchial asthma, pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, and upper respiratory infection. But experiments aimed at the function of heart were little.The objective of experiments is to research whether Sinocalamus affinis extraction possesses cardiovascular activity and protective effects on myocardial ischemia in rats. In vitro Langendorff heart perfusion was employed to investigate the effects of Sinocalamus affinis e xtraction; In vivo the method of drugs (Pituitrin, Isoproterenol) or ligating the coronary to make myocardial ischemia model in rats were employed to investigate the effects of Sinocalamus affinis extraction on myocardial ischemia.Result:1. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (0.25 mg/ml, 0.50 mg/ml) can reduce the heart rate, decrease the muscular tension and simultaneously increase the flow of perfusion.2. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (50 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg) given by ig can inhibit occurrence of myocardial ischemia induced by Pit, but the ratio of myocardial ischemia has not significant difference (P>0.05).3. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (50 mg/kg) given injected can reduce the drift of J-spot on ECG induced by ligating the coronary artery. Compared with control, the drift of J-spot on ECG has significant difference (P<0.01).4. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg) given by ig can inhibit the drift of J-spot on ECG induced by ISO. Compared with NS control, Sinocalamus affinis extraction (150 mg/kg) has extremely significant difference at 10 min after medication of ISO (P<0.01), and has significant difference at 30 min (P<0.05). Sinocalamus affinis extraction (300 mg/kg) has significant difference at 1 min, 30 min (P<0.05), and has extremely significant difference at 5 min, 10 min5. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg) given by ig can inhibit the changes of heart rate induced by ISO. Compared with NS control, Sinocalamus affinis extraction(150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg) has extremely significant difference at 1 min, 5 min, 10 min and 30 min after medication of ISO (P<0.01).6. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg) given by ig can not inhibit the changes of LVSP induced by ISO.7. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg) given by ig can inhibit the changes of LVEDP induced by ISO. Compared with NS control, Sinocalamus affinis extraction (150 mg/kg) has extremely significant difference at 1 min, 5 min, 10 min and 30 min after medication of ISO (P<0.01), and it's extraction (300 mg/kg) has significant difference at 5 min after injection (P<0.05) and extremely significant difference at 30 min after injection (P<0.01).8. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg) given by ig can not inhibit reduction of dp/dt induced by ISO.9. Sinocalamus affinis extraction (150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg) given by ig can not inhibit elevation of -dp/dt induced by ISO.Conclusion:1. Sinocalamus affinis extraction can reduce the heart rate, decrease the muscular tension and simultaneously increase the flow of perfusion, which shows that Sinocalamus affinis extraction possesses protective effects on the heart.2. Sinocalamus affinis extraction possesses protective effects on myocardial ischemia induced by drugs.3. Sinocalamus affinis extraction possesses protective effects on myocardial ischemia induced by ligating the coronary artery.
