| OBJECT To investigate the degradation kinetics of solid Dicloxacillin sodium in elevated temperature and humidity , solid Dicloxacillin sodium and its solution in elevated temperature. To study the influence of elevated temperature and humidity on the stability of Dicloxacillin sodium. To establish a rational kinetic equation to fit the degradation of Dicloxacillin sodium in elevated temperature and humidity.METHODS Flat bottom beakers containing samples of Dicloxacillin sodium were placed in hydrothermostat and thermostat, and the Dicloxacillin sodium solution sealed in ampoules were placed in thermostat. The content changes of Dicloxacillin sodium occurring in the course of the experimental exposition were measured by HPLC method. The kinetic equation of Dicloxacillin sodium was deduced and the kinetic parameters were calculated. The kinetic parameters show that the stability of Dicloxacillin sodium was greatly influenced by humidity. RESULT The degradation of solid Dicloxacillin sodium in elevated temperature and humility follows the model of solid - state autocatalytic reaction. The degradation of solid Dicloxacillin sodium and its solution in elevated temperature follow apparent first - order kinetic. CONCLUSIONS The degradation of solid Dicloxacillin sodium in elevatedtemperature and humidity proceed to the model of solid-state autocatalytic reaction. The stability of solid Dicloxacillin sodium is greatly influenced by ambient humidity. The degradation of Dicloxacillin sodium in elevated temperature and humidity condition occurs in two ways: the process of hydrolysis and the processautocatalyzed by the absorbed moisture. |
