Objective Based on the HIV/AIDS KABP baseline study on one rural area of Anhui province, a single session of HIV counseling was taken, and its effect was evaluated so as to provide evidence for the government to make HIV/AIDS prevention related policies.Methods The study was conducted at the Center for Certificate Issue where marriage licenses are issued by the County Department of Civil Affairs in Lixin county. Only the license applicants from rural villages were chosen as the study population. Using SPSS statistical analysis software to analyze the study data. Descriptive analysis, T-test, X~2 test, and Logistic regression analysis were the main analysis methods utilized.Result A good outcome has achieved after HIV/AIDS counseling to the new registered couple:(1) An average points of 11.17 was got on the HIV/AIDS transmission knowledge test to the previously 6.77 points after the intervention (p value<0.001); a significant change has happened on the research population's understanding of inter-family transmission of HIV, the percent of thinking that get married with a HIV carrier will cause the virus transmitted to themselves and children has risen from 75.6 %,77.4 % to now 84.6 % , 87.6% respectively.(2) The attitude of discrimination and concern towards HIV/AIDS carrier has changed obviously, but the difference of the study population's prediction of their vulnerability...
