Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To elucidate the effect of the icariin on osteoblastic cells. Method: Osteoblastic cells in vitro was isolated by sequential enzyme digestion from human bone. The morphology of osteoblastic cell, the transcriptions of alkaline phosphatase (AKP) genes was researched. As a result, the osteoblastic cells had high purity and stable phenotype, and could be used drugs research. The effects of the icariin on osteoblastic cell's replication were.researched. Various doses of icarrin could affect the osteoblast proliferation. Icariin was the most effective with the concentration of 10ng/ml (P<0.05) .Icariin might improve AKP activity in the later stage. Results: The icariin could improve the osteoblastic proliferation in the early stage, and had more benefit for the differentiation of the osteoblasts in the later period. Conclusion: The icariin could improve osteoblastic proliferation and develop the osteoblastic activity.
