A Study Of Amblyopia In Cause And Pathogeny

Objective: To assess the related factors of amblyopia and investigate the chromatic pattern visual evoked potential of amblyopia children, so that we can explain the causes and pathogeny of amblyopia.Methods: A 1:1 matched case-control studies were performed in 62 cases with amblyopia in Shandong. The main related factors were screened out with conditional logistic regression. Three kinds of reversal checkerboard pattern are simulated , including black-white ,red-blue, red-yellow. In our study, CP-VEP have been recorded from 26 amblyopia subjects in 62 cases. Results: The results showed that the height and weight in birth of children and the mothers suffering from shortage of knowledge and ametropia were the major risk factors. Living in storey and watching TV were preventing factors. In red-blue the latency was significantly longer than that of black-white and red-yellow. There was statistically significant difference in the amplitude (p < 0.05). In red-blue the waveform was significantly shorter than that of black-white. There was statistically significant difference in the amplitude (p < 0.05) .All kinds of amblyopia has different results. According the severity degree, the sequence was ametropic amblyopia, strabismic amblyopia, anisometropic amblyopia. Conclusions: 1, It is proved that the pathogeny of amblyopia is insufficiency of liver and kidney ,insufficiency of spleen and stomache, deficiency of qi and blood.2, It is proved that studying amblyopia through CP-VEP is a effective approach.
