| OBJECTIVE: To investigate the changes of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) in coronary heart disease(CHD) with qi- deficiency and blood stasis syndrome (QDBS),and the effects of Fu-Yuan capsule on LPA and cardiac function and blood rheological characteristic. METHOD: 30 CHD patients was divided two groups,including Fu-Yuan treated group (n=20 , mean age 61.1 ± 11.48) , controls group(n=10,mean age 61.1±11.73). In addition,20 healthy men was selected as normal controls group(n=20,mean age 31±5.02). All symptoms were standardized by there-grade score. LPA was assayed using previously described procedures or modifications of procedures provided by the manufacturer. Index numbers of heart function (including cardiac output, CO; and cardiac index, CI) were examined by cardiac ultrasound instrument. The blood rheological characteristic were assayed by MIVS-2015 blood rheometer. We compared variations of LPA between the CHD patients and normal people. We also observed the effects of Fu-Yuan capsule on serum LPA levels and heart functions and blood rheological characteristic. RESULT: (1) The serum LPA levels of CHD patients was greater than normal people,(p<0.01); (2) Following two-month Fu-Yuan capsule treatment,serum LPA levels of CHD men decreased (p<0.05); Compared with controls groups,LPA levels decreased (p<0.01); (3) Following two-month Fu-Yuan capsule treatment,CO and CI of CHD patients were improved (p<0.05);(4) Following two-month Fu-Yuan capsule treatment,the blood rheological characteristic were improved (p<0.05);(5)After treatment,the scales of clinical symptoms was improved obviously (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: (1) LPA is noticeable increased ,and critically involved in the development and progression of atherosclerosis and CHD. (2) Fu-Yuan capsule can decrease production of LPA,increase CO,expand coronary arteries , improve microcirculation and blood rheological characteristic in CHD patients. (3) There were no obviously side-effects observed in treatment.
