Objective: To investigate the etiology, prevention and treatment of postoperative hyperbilinibinemia after liver transplantation. Methods: Retrospectively analyze the clinical information of postoperative hyperbilinibinemia in 4 orthotopic liver transplant patients in our department, summarize the etiology, prevention and treatment of the hyperbilinibinemia. Results : The etiology of hyperbilinibinemia after liver transplantation in our group includes recurrent hepatitis B, acute rejection, biliary complication and preservation injury. The hyperbilirubinemia in patient of recurrent hepatitis B was complete resolved; the hyperbilirubinemia in patient of acute rejection died of intracranial infection in the process of application intravenous high-dose corticosteroids; the hyperbilirubinemia in patient of biliary sludge formation was partially resolved through endoscopic basket extraction, balloon distention and stent, but died of hepatapostema and cholangitis; the hyperbilirubinemia in patient of presevation injury was cured by retransplantation. Conclusions: The etiology of hyperbilirubinemia after liver transplantation were complicated and maybe overlapped. To the cases that long-term hyperbilirubinemia cause irreversible function loss of hepatocyte and bile formation, the only effective treatment is retransplantion.
