Objective: To investigate the mechanism of ear acupuncture by studying the effects of acupuncture of "thoracopneumatic area" (TPA) on ventricular arrthythmia rabbits . Methods: 36 health rabbits were divided randomly into six groups: model group, acupuncture of TPA group acupuncture of nTPA group PGL saline group non-acupuncture group PGL blockage group. The systolic pressure(SBP) diastolic pressure(DBP) mean arterial pressure(MAP) pulse pressure(P), heart rate(HR) and electrocardiogram(ECG) were recorded. When injection BaCL2 into ear vein induced ventricular arrhythmia, the effects and mechanisms of acupuncture of TPA on ventricular arrhythmia rabbits were observed. Results: (1) When injection BaCL2 into ear vein induced ventricular arrhythmia, SBP P increased, DBP MAP did not change significantly, HR decreased. Acupuncture of TPA could make the time of ventricular arrhythmia shorter. When acupuncture of nTPA the time of ventricular arrhythmia did not change significantly. There were significant changes between different experimental factors in hemodynamics.(2)When NS was microinjection into PGL, there's no significant change on ventricular arrhythmia rabbits, but procaine was microinjection into PGL, it could counteract the function of acupuncture, the time of ventricular arrhythmia was longer. There were significant changes between different experimental factors in hemodynamics. Conclusion: Acupuncture of "thoracopneumatic area" can make the time of ventricular premature systole on rabbits induced by injection BaCL2 into ear vein shorter. And this may rely on the rostral venteral lateral medulla cardiovascular center which including PGL in medulla.
