The Study And The Use Of Children's Behavioral Surveillance Survey

OBJECTIVE Behavior is closely related to diseases,especially childrens' behavior. The children's behavioral surveillance survey (CBSS) could promptly find out children's behavior characteristics, their changing trend with time and the influence factors for children's behavior, and provide fundamental theory for policy making of medicine and health department and education department with the aim to promote the children's health and growth.METHOD A combination of reference review,focus group discussion, consultation with the experts and observation is adopted to develop the index and to establish CBSS. The frequency and single-factor and multi-factor logistic regression analysis are used to analyze and comprehend the distribution characteristics of children's behavior and their influence factors.RESULTS The index of CBSS includes study, sleep, diet, exercise, transportation, sanitation, risk behavior and some other behavioral index. The re-measurable reliability Kappa degree of CBSS is between 0.56 and 0.73. Experts estimate that the surface validity and structure validity are both very high. The results in this study implicated that children's daily learning duration, daily sleeping duration and daily exercise duration should be concerned about.The influence factors are whether the children live in the city or in the countryside, mother's education level and the learning load on children.CONCLUSION The re-measurable reliability and validity of CBSS are fairly high, the survey instruments bear high stability and therefore the survey result is true and reliable. By using CBSS system,we can find out the risk behavior of childrens and analyze the factors which affect behavior .It is suggested that establishment of national CBSS system is important ,acceptable ,realistic and effective with this research.
