Objective: To analyze the effect of co2 pneumoperitoneum on severe abdominalcavity inflammation induced by CLP in the rats.Methods: 50 healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 group(10 rats foreach group): GroupⅤ, co2 pneumoperitoneum control, The animals of this grouptreated with 1cm incision on the right lower quadrant and co2 pneumo-peritoneum(3mmHg) for 30 minutes. Group Ⅳ, open abdomen control, 1cmincision on the right lower quadrant and 5cm on the middle of abdomen wereperformed. Group Ⅲ, severe abdominal cavity inflammation , the animals treatedwith only cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). GroupⅡ, cecal ligation and puncture(CLP) used co2, animals treated with cecal ligation and puncture(CLP) and co2pneumoperitoneum(3mmHg) for 30 minutes. GroupⅠ,open CLP, 5cm incision onthe middle of abdomen taken and treated with cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) .The model of severe abdominal cavity inflammation was copied in the rats asWichterman. The blood samples were gathered for examining TNF-α,IL-6,CRP,after they were treated about 8,16,24 hours.Result: The experimental result were as follow: The level of serum TNF-α,IL-6,CRP in open CLP (GroupⅠ),cecal ligation and puncture(CLP) used co2(GroupⅡ),severe abdominal cavity inflammation(GroupⅢ) were higher than co2pneumoperitoneum control(GroupⅤ)(p<0.05). Compared with GroupⅣ(openabdomen control),each survey was higher in GroupⅠ,GroupⅡand GroupⅢ(p<0.05). The marker of the experimental in GroupⅠwas higher than GroupⅢ(p<0.05), but the level of TNF-αwas lower in GroupⅡ(p>0.05), the level of CRPand IL-6 was also lower (p<0.05). The experimental result of GroupⅡwere lowerthan GroupⅠ(p<0.05).Conclusions: Open abdomen could make severe abdominal cavity inflammationbecome intense and the level of serum TNF-α,IL-6,CRP increase. on thecontrary, co2 pneumoperitoneum has a little inhibition to severe abdominal cavityinflammation, made the level of serum TNF-α,IL-6,CRP reduce in the rats. Theinhibition of co2 pneumoperitoneum to severe abdominal cavity inflammation wasmore obvious than open abdomen. Its mechanisms may be that co2 pneumo-peritoneum could bactericidal,making peritoneal cell acidulate,influencing toclean blood circulation inflammation medium,interventing the conjugation ofcytokine and its receptor in live and other organs and impacting directly live cellfunction by interventing the second signal system and so on.
