The recurrent spontaneous abort ion (RSA) refers to the occurrence of two or more consecutive spontaneous abortions. RSA is a common gestational complication with an incidence of 1%. The etiological factors involved in RSA include genetics, endocrine, anatomy, infection and other environmental factors. 50%-60% of RSA are related to immunological causes which are divided into alloimmune and autoimmune factors. Autoimmune factors account for 1/3 of immune-related RSA, this type of RSA are typical with existence of autoantibodies. The studies on the relationship between anti-β2-glycoprotein I antibodies (anti-β2-GP I) and RSA were carried out lately. In our study, serum levels of anti-β2-GP I were determined by ELISA in 81 patients with the histories of unexplained RSA (study group) and 39 normal healthy women (control group) The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between RSA and anti-β2-GP I to provide experimental evidences for clinical diagnosis and treatment of RSA. Our research detected the serum level of two types of anti-β2-GP I, IgG,IgM. In Juan Balasch's studies, the positive rates of total anti-β2-GP I was 43.0% , as 43.0% of IgG , 3.7% of IgM. In our study, the women with RSA show a higher incidence of anti-β2-GP I (42.0%) compared with normal controls (7.7%), which is statistically significant (P<0.01) ; so as IgG (40.8%) is statistically significant, compared with normal controls(7.7%), IgM (3.7%) is not statistically significant, compared with normal controls (2,6%), as scholars'reports. The detective result of IgM is maybe decided by it's character, the quantity of production of IgM in bodies is little, and hold up time is short, so the detection of it demands better elaborate laboratory methods. Our study indicates that there is important correlation between IgG anti-β2-GP I, but the relation between anti-β2-GP I IgM need to be further studied. The relationship between anti-β2-GP I and durations of pregnancy: The outcome of this study is the incidence rate of anti-β2-GP I is 42.9% in first trimester, while the incidence is 40.0% in late abortions. The positive rate of anti-β2-GP I in early abortions and late abortions is statistically significant compared with normal controls, but no difference between two groups. This result shows that anti-β2-GP I are associated with RSA, but the positive rate of anti-β2-GP I is not related with durations of pregnancy. As far as the relationship between anti-β2-GP I and RSA history is concerned, our results show positive rate of anti-β2-GP I in patients with 2 times abortions is 41.7%, higher than that(33.3%) in 3 times or more abortions, both groups have significant higher rates than control group. But there is no difference between two groups. This result shows that anti-β2-GP I are associated with RSA, but the positive rate of...
