Objective:To compare the difference of accommodative rangebetween implantation of the new 1CU accommodative intraocularlens(IOLs) and the conventional IOLs in cataract patients. Methods:All patients underwent phacoemulsification and IOLimplantation. The results of 20 eyes of 18 patients which implanted 1CUand 20 eyes of 20 patients which implanted conventionalIOLs(UV)1day,1week and 1months after surgery were analyzied. The mainmethods used were: uncorrected far vision, corrected far vision, uncorrectednear vision(35cm),near vision(35cm) with far distance correction, subjective near points, the anterior chamber depth(ACD) measured byA-scan after pilocarpine 1% eyedrops. Results: The differences of uncorrected far vision and corrected farvision between the two groups were statistically not significant(p>0.05).The others were statistically significant(p<0.001) between the two groups. Conclusions:The 1CU accommodative IOL showed increasedaccommodative range and better near visual acuity than the conventionalIOLs, and simutaniously showed good far visual acuity. But theaccommodation amplitute was limited and longer follow-up of the patientsshould be conducted to test the longtime stability of the 1CUaccommodative IOL.
