| OBJECTIVE:This study was designed to observe the effects of Shemazhichan decoction (SD) on Th subsets CKs from PBMC of asthma patients during acute period , at the same time, to analysis the antiinflammation mechanisms of SD and provide reference for cure of asthma with SD during acute period. METHODS:48 patients with acute bronchial asthma ,mild or moderate degree ,were randomly divide into gruops: the Shema group ,25 person with Shemazhichuan Decoction and aminophylline ;the Western medicine(WM) group ,23 person just only with aminophylline. Observe the changes of integral about the main symptoms, physical signs , pulmonary function (mainly FEV1, FEV1%, PEF). Observe the changes of IL-4 ,IFN- Y and IFN- γ / IL-4 which denote This Th2 kind of cytokine in serum by means of cytometric analysis. At the same time , search for the relationship between IFN-γ/ IL-4 and pulmonary function. RESULTS:1. Comparing with before treatment,IL-4 production was lower , but the secretion of IFN-γ was higher than before ,the ratio of IFN-γ/IL-4 was also obviously improved.2. As for the IFN-γ% ,there is no remarkable difference between two groups , but the IL-4% of SD group was obviously lower than WM group , and the ratio of IFN-γ/IL-4 was also obviously improved comparing to WM group after the treatment.3. Compared fore-and-aft treatment, symptom scores decrease in variousdegree. One of the main index------gasp score, its difference was remarkablebetween two groups after treatment.4.
